WMS
Stock, documents and the full history of every movement
WMS is a warehouse management system: stock by storage location, goods receipt, goods issue, transfers, reservations and picking tasks.
Built for: Companies with warehouse operations, and their technical teams.
Value
Every warehouse operation is recorded in an append-only inventory ledger, so the full history of every stock balance stays visible.
How it works
At the core of WMS is the inventory ledger. Receipts, issues, transfers and adjustments are recorded as separate operations, and each operation updates the stock in its storage location and leaves a record in the history. A mistake is fixed with a new operation rather than by editing an old one, so you can always see what changed, when and why.
Today WMS runs as a service with an application programming interface (API): there is no separate web interface for warehouse staff yet, and durable data storage and access roles are being prepared for production use. WMS is therefore something to discuss as a pilot with a technical team, not a system to roll out in a warehouse right away.
Implemented capabilities
- 01
Stock by location
Stock kept per warehouse, storage location and item. Warehouses and storage locations are set up during configuration for now, not through the API.
- 02
Stock movements
Receive, move and adjust stock; check available quantity.
- 03
Reservations
Reserve stock and release a reservation.
- 04
Picking
Picking tasks: create, assign to a picker, start, complete, cancel.
- 05
Warehouse documents
Goods receipt, goods issue and transfer documents: create, search, post, cancel.
- 06
Inventory ledger
The full history of warehouse operations in a ledger that is never rewritten.
- 07
Duplicate protection
A repeated request never creates the operation twice, and conflicting edits to the same record are detected.
In development
- Durable data storage for production use
- Authentication and access roles
Roadmap
- A broader application programming interface (API)
Target use cases
The use cases this product is being built for. They do not mean every capability described is already available.
Goods receipt
A receipt document is opened and posted, and stock is updated.
Order picking
Stock is reserved, a picking task is assigned to a picker, and the picker marks it done.
Transfers
Goods move by a transfer document, and the operation appears in the ledger.
Status · In development
The product is in development. Implemented capabilities are listed above; timing and access are discussed in a consultation.
Questions and answers
Can I run my warehouse in WMS today?
Not yet: the product is in development and not open for production use. In a consultation we show the implemented operations and discuss a pilot format.
Does WMS support barcode scanners?
No. There is no support for barcode scanners, handheld terminals or RFID today.
Does WMS integrate with accounting systems or marketplaces?
There are no confirmed integrations. WMS works on its own, and its data is available through its API.
