Finance
Customer invoices, ledger entries and a trial balance
Finance is operational financial accounting: a chart of accounts, a journal, customer invoices, accruals, a trial balance and invoice due dates.
Built for: Finance teams that need operational accounting alongside their statutory books.
Value
Posted entries never change, so the full accounting history stays visible, and accruals are reversed with a stated reason. Finance does not replace statutory accounting or tax reporting.
How it works
Finance keeps double-entry books. An accountant prepares an entry as a draft with lines and posts it, after which the journal record never changes. Reversing journal entries is planned, and the trial balance and account statements show the current state.
Customer invoices move from draft to issued with their lines, currency, counterparty and due date. In the web interface, which is still in development, invoices are grouped by due date. Payment records are still in development, so today the queue reflects due dates only, not money received.
